Soccer: Pioneers get their kicks before Spring Break

The Pioneers played a few “friendly” matches before Spring Break to get ready for the 2017 girls’ soccer season. The offense needs to find their footing but the defense appears to be solid heading into the new year.

On March 28, Pioneer lost to Seaholm High School 2-0. The visitors led 1-0 at halftime and added a second-half goal in the win.

The Pioneers opened the season on March 30 with a 1-0 loss at Salem. Weather forced the game to end 12 minutes before the end of the second half.

Pioneer kicks off the SEC schedule on Thursday (April 13) at home against crosstown rival Huron. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m.
