Boys Lacrosse: Pioneer tops Saline, improves to 3-0 in SEC

The Pioneer boys’ lacrosse team improved to 3-0 (3-2 overall) in the SEC with a solid 17-13 victory over rival Saline on Monday at Pioneer HS.

Jack Reid led the team to a commanding 8-1 lead after the first period, finishing with nine goals and two assists. The senior midfielder dominated at the face-off ‘x’ winning 62 percent of the draws and scoring two fast-break goals to go with his two man-up tallies.

Junior defenseman Jack Miling was impressive leading a stout defense that was short-handed due to injuries to starters Andrew Mills and Tim Markel.

Next up for the Pioneers is a non-conference game at home against Midland on Thursday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m.
