Tennis: River Rats fourth at competitive Ann Arbor Invite

The Huron girls’ varsity tennis team had a solid showing at the Ann Arbor Invite finishing in fourth place out of eight teams on Saturday.
The tournament included four Top 10 teams with No. 1 Midland Dow and No. 3 Northville showing why they are the leaders in the state. Northville finished in first place while Midland Dow in second.
For the River Rats, it was another strong tournament for the singles players. Leila Cheung finished in second place at two singles. Katie Sesi and Emma Parkin finished third at one and three singles respectively.
Three of the doubles teams had to quickly adjust to new partners as three alternates created a mixed line up which featured:

Emma Parkin (3 Single)
Yuki Sugiyama (4 Single)
Katia Kukucka and Julie Heng substituted for Carmen Giger (1 Double)
Brooke Brenner substituted for Rosie Li and Phoebe Yi substituted for Julie Heng (2 Double)
Jessica Ding and Reva Kulkarni (3 Double)
Julianne Yang substituted for Shalini Roy and Caroline Bromberg (4 Double)
