Girls Track: Pioneer brings home two wins from Monroe

The Pioneer girls’ track team continued down the track of success on Wednesday with a pair of wins in Monroe. In a triangular meet, the Pioneer girls squeaked out a narrow victory over Skyline 70-67 while beating Monroe handily 106-31.

The weather was not conducive to great performances, with the temperature in the mid-40s and the wind over 20 mph.

The Pioneers had several event winners:  200m – Britten Bowen (27.01), 800m – Anne Forsyth (2:18.49), 1600m – Sydney Dawes (5:24.01), 3200m – Libby Kos (11:46.95), 300m hurdles – Alice Hill (47.36), 4x100m relay – Cori Griffin-Shelby Hall-Hailey Mayes-Britten Bowen (50.96), 4x200m relay – Cori Griffin-Alexa Easter-Shelby Hall-Tiffany Cernej-Garcia (1:51.47), 4x800m relay – Anne Forsyth-Sydney Dawes-Jacalyn Overdier-Alice Hill (9:28.88), and Long jump – Lakeia Harris (16′ 1″).

The Pioneers will run on Friday at the Golden Triangle Invitational at Saline.
