Roundup: Huron tennis, golf find their swing

The Huron tennis team hosted a Quad Meet with Troy, Plymouth, and Clarkston high schools on Saturday. Clarkson came in first behind its strong doubles teams that swept all the matches.

Huron finished second with Plymouth and Troy ending in third and fourth. Huron flight winners who went undefeated included Leila Cheung (2 singles) and Emma Parkin (3 Singles).

This will be an extremely busy week for the Lady Rats. Weather has been unkind and the make-up schedule will require them to play five matches in six days. The team will need to stay strong and focused as they prepare for Regionals next week.

Upcoming matches include:
Thursday, May 11: Bedford Home
Friday, May 12: Pioneer Home
Saturday, May 13: Holly Invitational

The Huron golf team extended its league record to 5-1 with a home victory over Saline at Leslie Park Golf Course last Wednesday.

The three-stroke margin (168-171) was provided by Brandon Petzak (40), Quinn Tank (42), Jack Harrison (43), and Carl Innes (43).
