Boys lacrosse: Pioneers lock up perfect SEC record

The SEC Champion Ann Arbor Pioneer Varsity boys’ lacrosse team finished the regular season Monday night with a decisive victory over league rival Saline 12-5 solidifying an undefeated record in the SEC at 10-0.

Jack Reid and Noah Gago led the way with three goals each with Zach Waitz and Nate Yuhas both netting two on the night.

After falling behind 3-0, the Hornets fought their way back into the game, tying it shortly before halftime at 5-5.

But the Pioneers defense would prove to be too much, holding Saline scoreless in the second half while a dominating offense took control of the game netting five goals in the final quarter.

The Pioneers’ open MHSAA Regional play this Thursday, the 18th, at home against Whitmore Lake. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. on Hollway Field.
