Softball: Pioneers fall to talented Monroe

Pioneer ran into a very talented and experienced Monroe team and lost both games to the Trojans.

Pioneer lost the first game of a double header 13-1 to Monroe. Monroe scored nine runs in a big first inning to capture the lead and win.


Lizzie Kuras led Pioneer offensively with two hits in three at-bats. Kuras and Curtis each had a double for Pioneer.

The Pioneers lost the second game 11-0.

Taryn Curtis led the Pioneers with a triple in the loss.

Pioneer plays again on Wednesday in a single game at Lincoln.
