The Mission: The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization who’s mission is to increase public knowledge and appreciation for contemporary fine arts and fine crafts by creating opportunities that connect artists, the Ann Arbor community and the general public to their mutual benefit, including a top quality juried street art fair.
When it’s open and when it’s not: The AA Street Art Fair is Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23. Thursday through Saturday is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday is from noon to 6 p.m. It is NOT open during other times and dates. For example, do not go at 9 a.m. on Aug. 27th.
Getting to the Fair: Getting to the AA Street Fair is actually quite easy. One can drive right into downtown and try to find a parking spot in one of the many garages located throughout the area. But a safer and more logical (think Spock) approach is park your USS Enterprise at either Briarwood Mall, Huron HS or Pioneer HS and take TheRide shuttle over to the fair. Parking is free and the shuttle costs just $3 round-trip.
Be aware: Remember Michigan is famous for many things during the summer months, including CONSTRUCTION. Area road projects and closures include North University and Fletcher; Main and William; State and Madison; and Stadium Blvd. (in front of the greatest football stadium in the world).
Come Hungry: And leave full. Food choices range from steak to pizza to Thai, to Mediterranean, to Irish, to Greek. Sweet and spicy and spectacular are all on the menu at the AA Street Art Fair. And there is plenty to drink. So drink to your health and stay healthy and safe – for everyone’s sake.
Entertainment: In addition to high-quality artists, you’ll also experience a variety of free entertainment during your visit ranging from live music to family-friendly activities to performance artists.
