Cross Country: Pioneer girls finish first at SEC Jamboree

The Pioneer girls’ cross country team won the first SEC Jamboree scoring a total of 57 points followed by Saline with 68, Pinckney with 75, Bedford with 82, and Skyline with 94.

Twelve SEC teams took part in the race.

Ann Forsyth led the Pioneers, winning the 5 km race in a course record time of 17:45.

The other scorers for the Pioneers were Libby Kos in 8th (19:41), Mallory Dawes in 9th (19:52), Ella Ryan in 19th (20:06), and Anna Vogel in 20th (20:07).

Of the 28 girls who ran in the race, 14 had season best times, while an additional seven had all-time best times.

The Pioneers take to the course again on Friday, traveling to the campus of Michigan State University for the MSU Spartan Invitational.
