Swimming: Pioneers compete among best in the state

The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team competed at the Pioneer Classic in East Grand Rapids. The competition featured nine teams, including seven of the top 17 teams in the state.

The Pioneers scored 110 points and finished seventh.


The following Pioneers placed in the event: Katie Capelli (200 Free – 3rd & 100 Fly – 9th), Jenni Krzeczkowski (50 Free – 8th), Lauren Batra (100 Free – 16th), Tierney Fraidenburg (Diving – 16th), and Quoia Sam (100 Back – 11th). The following relays scored: 200 Medley – 7th (Quoia Sam, Jenni Krzeczkowski, Abby Mehraban, Katie Capelli), 200 Free – 4th (Jenni Krzeczkowski, Abby Mehraban, Lauren Batra, Katie Capelli), and 400 Free – 14th (Grace Stephan, Lauren Batra, Dayna Houston, Quoia Sam).

The following Pioneers earned MISCA qualification cuts: Katie Capelli (200 Free & 100 Fly) and the 200 Free relay of Jenni Krzeczkowski, Abby Mehraban, Lauren Batra, Katie Capelli.
