Cross Country: Pioneer girls run second at Coaching Legends meet


The Pioneer girls’ cross country team traveled to Brighton on Saturday to compete in the Coaching Legends Cross Country meet and returned with the second-place trophy.

The team from Northville finished first with 76 points while the Pioneers scored 85.

The Pioneers were followed by Troy with 95, Pinckney with 134, and Birmingham Seaholm with 139. A total of 17 teams competed.

Senior Anne Forsyth again led the team with her first place finish (17:36). Zofia Dudek finished seventh in the race and finished as the seventh fastest girl in Pioneer history (18:19).
Libby Kos followed in 21st (19:20) followed by Anna Vogel in 22nd (19:24). Mallory Dawes rounded out the scoring in 34th (19:43).

Also competing were Ella Ryan finished in 41st (19:57), Alice Glab in 52nd (20:23), Sophy Cunningham in 83rd (20:59), Cammie Dalton in 91st (21:10), and Paige McCreadie in 135th (22:31).

The Pioneers travel to Portage this week to compete in the Portage Invitational where 10 of the top 15 teams in the state will be competing.
