Detour ahead: Local road closings and construction updates

West Stadium: Monday, Oct. 9-Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. Beginning on Monday, October 9, West Stadium Blvd., between South Maple and Pauline, will experience intermittent single lane closures for road repairs. Work will occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. During construction pedestrian traffic will be maintained, or detoured as required. Access for emergency vehicles, and to side streets and driveways, will also be maintained.

West Liberty: Tuesday, Oct. 10-Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. Beginning on Tuesday, October 10, West Liberty between Scio Ridge and South Maple will be closed to traffic in the westbound direction for road resurfacing.


Westbound traffic will be detoured southerly on South Maple Road to westerly on Scio Church Road to northerly on Wagner Road. The contractor will maintain one-way traffic on West Liberty Road through the construction area with one lane operating in the eastbound direction. This closure and the related work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, October 17.

Church Street/South University: Wednesday, Oct. 11–Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017. Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, Church Street will close to traffic in the northbound direction between South University Avenue and Geddes Avenue; and beginning Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, South University Avenue will close to traffic in the eastbound direction from Church Street to Washtenaw Avenue. Both closures are being done for road resurfacing as well as curb and ramp repairs.

During these closures, traffic will be detoured westerly on South University Avenue, southerly on South State Street, easterly on Hill Street and northerly on Washtenaw Avenue. The contractor will maintain one-way traffic through the construction area with one lane operating in the southbound direction on Church Street, and one lane operating in the westbound direction on South University Avenue. These closures and the related work are expected to continue through Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, weather permitting.

South Fourth: Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, October 14 between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., South Fourth between Huron and Washington will be closed to vehicle traffic for work at the 100 block of South Fourth.

Southbound Fourth Avenue will be detoured east on Huron Street, south on Fifth Avenue, and west on Washington Street. Northbound Fourth Avenue will be detoured west on Washington Street, north on South Main Street and east on Huron Street. Pedestrian traffic on the east side of Fourth Avenue will be detoured to the west side of Fourth Avenue.
