Imagine you’re out on a Saturday morning running errands or you have time to kill in between the day’s events. You have a hankering to shop. Could you use some fruit and vegetables? Probably. It’s October so picking out a pumpkin is a necessity. And while you’re at it, browsing deals on clothes and accessories sounds like fun.
As an Ann Arbor resident, you know the local Farmers Market is open, and it’s the best chance at a one-stop shop for all of the above. But do they have everything you’re looking for today?
Find out on-the-go with the new Ann Arbor Farmers Market “Vendor Spotlight” mobile app and website.
“As you are going about your day, you may just want to check quickly and the information is easily accessible with the app,” says Stephanie Willette, Market Manager. “It’s meant to be mobile friendly so that people can have access to it whenever.”
This new website includes vendor profiles, which feature descriptions about who each vendor is and what they offer. Additionally, parking tips, an event calendar, information about food truck rallies and market contact information and hours are incorporated.
“It’s a way to highlight some of our vendors each month to try to bring more attention and focus to the people and businesses that go into making the market a great place to visit,” says Willette. “We wanted to make it easy to look at the information most people want to know.”
With a quick glance at the app, users will see a variety of scrumptious treats like bagels, scones, and bread, fresh and organic produce like tomatoes, peppers, apples and pears, homemade pasta, seasonal flowers including mums, roses and lilies, fashion-forward clothes, accessories and handbags, along with pumpkins, gourds and cider on sale this month.
October’s vendors are: Beagle’s Café & Bakery, Lake Divide Farm, Lightweight Travel Totes, Myla’s Exclusives, Never Dull Knife Sharpening, Pumpkin Time, Renegade Acres, Sons & Daughters, Sparr’s Flowers & Greenhouses, The Pasta Shop and Wolfe Orchard.
To download the website to a mobile device, go to www.a2farmersmarket.org on your phone and click “Add to Home Screen.” This will download the webpage and put it amongst your other apps. Now, all the need-to-know Farmers Market information will be quick and easy to find while out and about or at home.
