One of the biggest local high school hockey tournaments of the season faces off this week at the Ice Cube as the puck drops for the annual Dan Jilek Memorial hockey tournament.
The tournament features the four Ann Arbor teams playing for the city championship.
Skyline will face Huron in the first of two games at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 at the Ice Cube. Father Gabriel Richard will face Pioneer in the second game at 7:20 p.m.
The Fighting Irish play at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5 against Skyline at the Ice Cube in their second game of the tournament. Pioneer will play Huron at 7:20 in the second game on Friday.
The mission of the Dan Jilek Memorial Fund is to continue Dan’s commitment to the pursuit of self-knowledge and development of young men and women through participation in athletic and fine arts activities. The fund supports programs that allow young people the opportunity to develop leadership, creativity, and an appreciation for team effort in an environment where the values of character, determination and sportsmanship are promoted.
