Crystalline Bubbles: The Photography Of Kelley Boyes

While many of us are layered up and huddled indoors, area photographer Kelley Boyes thinks the sub-zero conditions are perfect to get outside for a very summer activity – blowing bubbles. She tells us,

“Ok Guys, it’s official! It is really cool to watch bubbles freeze! It was a little windy, so it took a lot of trying to get a bubble that wouldn’t pop, but it can be done!”

In this series of shots, you can see the progression of crystallization that takes place as the bubble freezes in the setting sun.

Thanks Kelly!
