Under the direction of Coach Bill Bellers, the Pioneer football team enjoyed a successful season last year and the accolades and accomplishments are still scoring touchdowns for the Pioneers during Wednesday’s National Signing Day for college football.
Lael Onfiade talked to WeLoveAnnArbor.com during his outstanding senior season and credited his mom for all his success. Well, his mom is certainly proud today.
Onfiade signed on Wednesday with Notre Dame College in Ohio.
This past season he was chosen by his coaches and teammates as Pioneer’s most valuable player and received the Bill Ball trophy. A three-year varsity letter winner, Onfiade was named to the MLive Ann Arbor Area Offensive Dream Team as a wide receiver and was also named First-Team All SEC Red Offense.
Onfiade will be continuing his career as a WR at NDC. He plans on studying business administration.
“Lael is guaranteed to continue to have success on and off the field due to his amazing work ethic and his special knack to put others needs before his own, which also made him an amazing teammate and captain,” Bellers said.
