After losing the day before by one stroke, the Eagles made sure it wasn’t that close on Thursday with an impressive team score of 169, 24 strokes better than they shot on Wednesday.
Pioneer’s 169 on the Lake Forest course defeated Pioneer (174) and Saline (201) in the SEC Red Division tri-meet.
Four Skyline players broke 40 with Nikki Lama leading the way with a 40. Adie Maki shot a 42, Cammi Tirico fired a 43 and Addy Meadows carded a 44. Amber Hing shot a 50 and Alison Marshall carded a 51 for the Eagles.
Skyline improved to 9-2 on the season which ties the Eagles for first place in SEC with Pioneer, Saline and Pinckney.
The final 18-hole SEC Championship tournament is at Eagle Crest on Sept. 24.
The Pioneers earned a split on the day, falling to Skyline but knocking off Saline 174-201. Pioneer sophomore Amaya Melendez shot the lowest score of the day with a 39. Backing her up was senior Erica Liu with a 44.
The Pioneer girls’ JV team had a win over Skyline in an SEC tri-match also at Lake Forest GC. The Pioneers came in with a 240, while Skyline followed close behind with a 242. Saline beat both teams, coming in with a 233. Low scores for the Pioneers were sophomore Gaya Pederson and senior Stella Jamsen.
