Soccer: Pioneers give the boot to Monroe, 3-0


The Pioneer boys’ soccer team kicked one into the win column with an impressive 3-0 win over Monroe in an SEC Red Division matchup on Tuesday.

Phillip Kim, Owen Blanchard and Austin Jacobs all scored goals for the winners. All three goals were unassisted.
The Pioneers scored once in the first half and added two more goals in the second half to lock down the victory.

Avi Weingarten and Sam Sugerman split time in the net to earn the shutout.

The Pioneers face a tough Canton team on the road and Saturday and then host rival Skyline at 7 p.m. on Monday.
