Swimming: Pioneer splits dual meets with Huron, Lincoln


The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team hosted their first dual meet of the season on Wednesday to rival Huron.

The River Rats swam past the Pioneers 117-69.

For the Pioneers, individual event winners included Jenni Krzeczkowski (50 Free & 100 Breast), Abby Mehraban (100 Fly) and Quoia Sam (100 Free).

The Pioneer 200 free relay (Jenni Krzeczkowski, Lauren Batra, Dayna Houston, Abby Mehraban) also won their event.
The following swimmers earned their MISCA qualification cuts: Abby Mehraban (200 IM & 100 Fly), Jenni Krzeczkowski (50 Free & 100 Breast), and Quoia Sam (100 Back).

Last Thursday, the Pioneers dunked Ypsilanti Lincoln 136-37.

Pioneer took first place in the following relays: 200 Medley (Maddie Batra, Joy Shen, Cassidy Spisak, Abby Mehraban), 200 Free (Lizzy Peters, Meg Brady, Abby Mehraban, Quoia Sam), and 400 Free (Jenni Krzeczkowski, Maddie Batra, Lizzy Peters, Lauren Batra).

Individual event winners included Jenni Krzeczkowski (200 Free & 100 Free), Cassidy Spisak (200 IM), Maddie Batra (50 Free), Jordan Marion (Diving), Evelyn Broughton (500 Free), Abby Mehraban (100 Back), and Joy Shen (100 Breast). Jenni Krzeczkowski also earned her MISCA qualification cut in the 100 Free.
