Girls Hockey: Pioneers knock off visiting Walled Lake 10-3  


The Pioneer girls’ hockey team broke open a close game with four goals in the second period and cruised to an impressive 10-3 win Wednesday over visiting Walled Lake at Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Pioneer offense spread the scoring around with seven different players recording goals.

Ava Millman and Katie Pascoe led the scoring with 2 goals and 1 assist each. Kaleigh Barricklow scored twice and Bella Lopresti, Kiara Siebler, Rory Campbell and Sarah Negrin each scored once.

Anna Peters, Anna Thomas, Claire Bradley, Chiane Ruesser, and Lauren Siller contributed assists.

Netminder Vivian Ross turned away 20 Walled Lake shots as the Pioneers outshot Walled Lake 34-23.

Before the Thanksgiving break, the Pioneers knocked off visiting Bloomfield Hills 8-1.

Pioneer took a 2-0 lead in the first period before breaking the game open 7-1 midway through the second period. The Pioneers added a goal in the third period.

Scoring was led by Katie Pascoe who had 3 goals and 2 assists; Anna Thomas with 1 goal and 3 assists; and Kiara Siebler with 1 goal and 1 assist. Leslie Reid, Bella LoPresti and Rory Campbell also scored for the winners. Sara Negrin recorded a pair of assists and Chiane Reusser had 1 assist.

Vivian Ross made 13 saves as the Pioneers outshot their opponent 26-14.
