Reaction: Michigan fans react to Wolverines collapse in the Outback Bowl

Monday’s New Year’s Day game with South Carolina in the Outback Bowl was a rough one for the University of Michigan football team and the Wolverines’ legion of fans. South Carolina came back from 16 points down in the second half to knock off Michigan 26-19.

The Big Ten was 7-0 before Michigan’s loss.

The results and aftermath created quite the buzz from Michigan fans. And needless to say they are not happy. Here is a sampling of some of the “better” comments.

From Jim:
“Many Big Ten fans consider the Michigan Meltdown the completion of a perfect bowl season.”

From Mark:
“This is on Harbaugh. Five weeks of preparation and the offense is still vanilla. Drevno has to go. $1M salary for pedestrian runs off the tackle, swing passes and check offs for 5 yards.”

From Randy:
“Harbaugh has a lot of explaining to do….and don’t start with where youre going to take the team on your summer vacation.”

From David:
“One more horrendous loss closer to firing the worst coach in the NCAA. My beloved Blue is being humiliated weekly with this joke of a coach and his 1940 offense.”

From Viva:
“Well, leave it to the most overrated coach around to ruin a perfect bowl record for his conference. Absolutely atrocious coaching to finish the game. Michigan, please keep this guy as long as possible! Sincerely all of the other Big 10 schools.”

From Craig:
“What reason is there to bring Harbaugh back next season other than his reputation? He has utterly failed in all phases of the game since arriving in Ann Arbor. The offense is abysmal and there is no sign they will be any better next season. The defense is supposed to be the strength of the team, but they are shaky as well. You can’t put this loss on the defense, but they couldn’t contain Ohio State’s back up at home in the season finale. Like everyone else, I thought Harbaugh was a dream hire, but he has been a complete failure.”

From Tim:
“The reason UM will bring Harbaugh back is because he fits in perfectly with UM’s long standing motto….”Oh yeah, just wait till next season.”
