“Is this your first snow? That is so cute.”

That is something many people have told me since the winter started.

Yes, it is: My first snow.

Before coming to the United States, all I was thinking about was snow. After watching it in thousand of movies as a kid I was getting closer and closer to finally have it on my hands.

Living in a part of the world in which snow is not a thing (and therefore neither are snowmans, snow angels, snowball fights nor white Christmas), made this wait even more exciting.

In a December morning, while I was slowly opening my eyes, I saw that the yard was no longer green, but white. Looking through my window it felt like Narnia outside, a whole new thing for me. I couldn’t believe it was finally here. It was so beautiful.

The next day, I went outside to finally touch it. Its texture was as I expected, thicker than powder, but not that much, however, colder than I thought, and easy to stick on you.

It was not until a few weeks later that I realized how difficult it was to build a snowman, trying to prevent the future masterpiece to fall while you are trying to put his head on was hard, even doing the big snow balls took its time.

To be honest, I feel like a kid when I have snow surrounding me, it is something that cannot be described, and it just makes you happy. With snow I did a lot of new things such as snow angels, snowman, sliding, snowball fights, things that I had never done before, and I might not going to do again.

Oh right! Snow days too, those are the best!
