LPGA Volvik Championship teeing up search for volunteers

The LPGA Volvik Championship returns to Ann Arbor May 21-27 at Travis Pointe Country Club and more than 30,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the third annual tournament.

And even with snow on the course and a chill in the air, organizers are already teeing up preparations for an event that attracts some of the best women golfers in the world. At the LPGA Volvik Championship, they are committed to providing a memorable experience for fans, sponsors, players and volunteers.

The overall success of the tournament is largely based on support from the community, especially with volunteers. By becoming part of our Tournament Team, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful way, interact with the world’s best female golfers, and be personally involved in the growth and success of southeast Michigan’s only professional golf tournament.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed in all areas of the tournament and golf course and organizers are still trying to organize the volunteer field. A volunteer package includes:

Volunteer Uniform (golf shirt, jacket, and hat or visor)
Volunteer Credential (includes Weeklong Grounds access)
Volunteer Weeklong Parking Pass
Guest Weeklong Grounds Credential
Volvik Golf Ball Gift Pack
Volunteer Meals (for each shift worked)

The LPGA Volvik Championship will be internationally televised in over 150 countries and create a $20 million economic impact for southeast Michigan. Being played through Memorial Day weekend, the event will raise awareness for charities, including those that benefit military families.
