Boys Basketball: Dreadnaughts rebound with 66-23 win over Stockbridge

The Dexter basketball team bounced back from its first loss in weeks with a convincing 66-23 victory over Strockbridge on Friday night.

The Dreadnaughts jumped out to a 19-6 lead and never looked back. They led 35-13 at halftime and outscored Stockbridge 14-6 in the third quarter and 17-4 in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Marco Lucchesi led the Dreadnaughts with 18 points. Senior Brady Rosen scored 15, Jake Avery scored eight and Drew Bishop and Caden Doll each scored six in the win.

The Dreads’ six-game winning streak came to an end against Saline on Tuesday. The Hornets didn’t score a lot but they did score a 38-30 win over Dexter.

After each team scored five points in the first quarter, Dexter led 21-10 at halftime. But the Hornets outscored the Dreads 13-4 in the third quarter and 15-5 in the fourth quarter.

Rosen and Nick Filiccia each scored eight to lead Dexter. Bishop had seven points in the loss.

Dexter hosts Adrian on Friday.
