Wrestling: Local teams compete at SEC championships

 

The Ann Arbor wrestling teams headed down to the Bedford for the SEC championships on Saturday. Here are some individual results.

At 119 pounds, Skyline’s Lucas Jackson defeated Chelsea’s Solair DiDomenico 13-2 in a consolation second-round match. Jackson also defeated Saline’s Alexis Poupore on a 5-2 decision.

In the consolation semifinals at 125 pounds, Skyline’s Oscar Anderson fell to Chelsea’s Shane Nold at 4:14.

At 103 pounds, Skyline’s Ruggero Soto-Ricci pinned Tecumseh’s Jeremiah Torres at 4:45. Skyline’s Tarek Bawardi pinned Tecumseh’s Clayton Boatright at 1:46 at 171 pounds.

At 112 pounds, Pioneer’s Steven Oliverio lost on a fall (1:38) to Lincoln’s Kade Lewis. Oliverio bounced back and won the fifth-place match with an 8-2 win over Chelsea’s Brandon de Gracia.

At 152 pounds, Pioneer’s Alexander Baker lost a 9-0 decision to Lincoln’s Jeffrey Jones.

Huron’s Elizabeth Beaudoin lost to de Garcia of Chelsea on a fall at 3:12 at 112 pounds. In a consolation semifinal match, Huron’s Richard Hurley won a 9-7 decision over Chelsea’s Mason Trinkle at 140 pounds.
