Coffee & Conversation: St. James hosting program on human trafficking

The St. James’ Episcopal Church in Dexter is hosting its sixth Coffee & Conversation this month at the church located at 3279 Broad St., in Dexter.

This is a free event offered to the community with appetizers and beverages.

St. James is pleased to be hosting an excellent speaker, Dr. Jeremy Norwood from Spring Arbor University to speak about Human Trafficking. Dr. Norwood is an associate professor of Sociology at Spring Arbor. He also is the chair of the Department of Sociology, Global Studies and Criminal Justice.

The church also is hosting a survivor to tell her story. People are encouraged to show up and see how this relates to where you work, live and vacation.

The event begins with a “meet and mingle” at 6:30 p.m. The program will run from 7 to 8:15 p.m. followed by a Q&A.
