Girls Basketball: Pioneer girls fall on the road at Fowlerville


The Pioneer girls’ basketball team took their two-game winning streak on the road and couldn’t overcome a rough second quarter and fell to Fowlerville 52-39 on Tuesday night.

The Pioneers fall to 6-9 on the season.

Felicia Stewart led the Pioneers with 11 points. Asaria Turman and Ilena Garrett each scored nine points.

Fowlerville trailed by just two points after the first quarter but were outscored 17-9 in the second quarter and trailed 27-17 at halftime. The hosts outscored the Pioneers 12-10 in the third quarter and 13-12 in the final period.

Pioneer begins its final five regular-season games of the season on Friday at home against Bedford.
