Girls Basketball: State playoff schedule for local teams

 

The Huron girls’ basketball team, sitting at 18-1 on the season, will be the heavy favorites of District 30 hosted by Pioneer High School.

The host Pioneers will open things up with a game against Romulus at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 followed by the River Rats vs. Dexter at 7 p.m. The Pioneer-Romulus winner will play at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 against Pinckney while the Huron-Dexter winner faces Skyline at 7 p.m. The finals are at 7 p.m. Friday, March 2.

The winner of the Pioneer District will head to Walled Lake Western to play the winner of District 31 (Howell) in a regional game at 5 p.m. on March 6. The regional final is at 7 p.m. on March 8 at WL Western.

State quarterfinal games are March 13 with the semifinals games on March 15-16 with the finals March 17 at Van Noord Arena (Calvin College).

Class B

Father Gabriel Richard gets a first-round bye and will play the winner of Livonia Ladywood-Robichaud at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28. The finals are at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 2. The other bracket has Divine Child-Annapolis playing in the first round with the winner getting Henry Ford in the second round.

Class C

Greenhills plays host to Class C District 72. Greenhills plays Canton Prep in a first-round game at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26. The winner plays Riverview Gabriel Richard in a semifinal game at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The other side of the bracket has Allen Park Cabrini playing Whitmore Lake in the first round with the winner playing Arbor Prep in round two at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The finals are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2.
