County Crime Blotter: Numerous Assaults Across Dexter, Scio

Multiple assaults took place across Dexter and Scio Township last week. As of late, this crime has become more prevalent in these areas.

The first occurred last Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 2:20 p.m., at the 4900 block of Pratt Rd. The suspect, a 15-year-old, was not arrested and caused no injuries.

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, another domestic assault occurred, this time, at the 700 block of Lilac Ave.,at 7:11 a.m. A 34-year-old female from Ann Arbor was named the attacker, but she was not arrested. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

A homeowner at the 4300 block of Eyrie Dr., went outside on Monday, March 5, around 7:20 p.m., to check on a noise, that sounded like rocks being thrown against his siding, and was attacked. He confronted the group of men causing the commotion and then, one of them punched him in the face, resulting in a bloody lip. The suspect was identified as a 45-year-old male from Ann Arbor and he was not arrested.

Additionally, a 73-year-old male from Chelsea was arrested on a DUI charge last Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 9:24 a.m. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s department was dispatched to the area of N. Territorial Rd. and Mast Rd., after an erratic driver pulled over. When authorities questioned the driver, he appeared intoxicated and a field sobriety test confirmed his state.
