With the popular DTE Energy Foundation Trail in Waterloo Recreation Area, riders can access more technical and challenging terrain with its series of loops. Gain confidence in your abilities with instruction from Aberdeen Bike Shop owner Mike Casey and the Aberdeen Mountain Bike Team. Instructors will structure the course for basic to Intermediate trail-riding skills and basic on-trail repairs. Riders should be prepared to learn the fundamentals of bike handling, braking, shifting, pedaling techniques, cornering, climbing, descending and positioning. A more advanced set of skills for intermediate riders will include front and rear wheel lifts, jumping, dropping and pumping. The on-trail service portion of the class will cover common repairs that can be made on the trail to ensure you’re able to ride out of the woods.
