A string of burglaries left four broken windows and cash missing at four separate businesses. At this point, there is no suspect and it is unknown if these crimes are related or not, but the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s department is investigating this possibility. These incidents all occurred on Jackson Rd. at the 3900 block, 5200 block and 3700 block on Thursday, March 29, Sunday, April 1, and two on Monday, April 2, respectively.
Two vehicles were also stolen last week.
The first, was a four-wheeler stored in a barn at the 5400 block of W. Joy Rd. On Friday, March 30, the owner went out to the unlocked barn for the first time in two weeks and discovered his ATV missing. Police found tire tracks by the barn, but as of publish, the vehicle had not been recovered and no suspect identified.
The second vehicle was stolen from a residence at the 200 block of Chestnut Blvd., on Saturday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m. The owner started his car, returned to the house and then came out a short while later to an empty driveway. Authorities found the vehicle later that same day in Jackson City, parked on the side of a street in a neighborhood there. No suspect has been identified.
A domestic assault involving a 47-year-old female from Dexter occurred on Thursday, March 29, at 1:05 a.m., at the 3000 block of Baker Rd. She was not arrested and there were no injuries.
In her second drunk driving offense, a 32-year-old female from Pinckney was pulled over for speeding. She admitted to drinking after the officers stopped her, a field sobriety test confirmed her statement and she was taken to the county jail.
Six screws were found inside the tire of an allegedly vandalized vehicle at the 2800 block of Windside Ct. on Tuesday, March 27. The car was parked at the victim’s residence overnight and after waking up to a flat, he took it into the nearest shop where they discovered the screws. There is no suspect, but police are assuming this damage was done intentionally, as it’s an unlikely accident.
