Skyline High School presents “Shrek: The Musical” this weekend


“Shrek: The Musical,” based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, hits the stage this weekend at Skyline High School.

Performances are Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, April 15 at 2:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 21 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 22 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The cast is made up of Skyline Theatre students Luke Renken, Amanda Wilhoit, Jennie Rupp, Savanna Cowley, Matt Rupp, Caleb Hemstra, Marina Dauer, Gabe Hill, Daniel Kennedy, Lydia Hall, Alex Tistle, Lilly Knopp, Makayla Franklin, Heavyn Dyer-Jones, Elena Schroeder, Nate Fison, Andrew Lafferty, Lauryn Perkins, Sophie Reznick, Clare de Vries, Makayla Klein, Ally Lawson, Dan Kennedy, Chloe Durkee, Jalen Steudle, Tessa Wilson, Hannah Connell, Grant Hoover, Evie Glaves, Laila Krugman, Mack Lieberman, and Aiva Zoldan.

 “Shrek: The Musical” is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone, featuring a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, $5 for children 10 and under. Special VIP tickets are available for $25.
