Four Foods to Eat After Your Spring Workout

The latest from Dexter Wellness Center‘s Cheri McLean:

The warmer weather of spring inspires us to refresh our health and fitness goals.  It’s fun to take your workout outdoors or to try a new class to add variety to your workout routine. After your workout, it’s important to choose the right foods to restore fluids and nutrients in your body. Here are four snacks to try this spring to refuel your body from the Einstein Healthcare Network:

  • Apple slices with peanut butter
  • A hardboiled egg with a piece of fruit
  • A piece of low-fat cheese with a few whole-wheat crackers
  • Low-fat cottage cheese topped with fruit

Don’t forget to hydrate before, during and after your workout. Remember to eat foods with both carbohydrates and protein 30-minutes after your workout to feel your best. At Dexter Wellness Center, we offer Nutritional Counseling that will provide advice and tips on the best food choices for your body and your goals. Learn more at the Member Services desk.
