Track & Field: Eagles boys and girls sweep Bedford, Monroe in SEC tri-meet


The Skyline boys’ track and field team won two meets for the price of one on Tuesday in a tri-meet at Monroe. The Eagles dropped Monroe 73-64 and ran past Bedford 81-55 to improve to 3-1 in the SEC Red.

The Skyline girls’ also swept the tri-meet as the Eagles racked up an impressive 113-40 win over Bedford and a 97-24 win over Monroe.


In the 100 meters, senior Myles Miller ran first in 11.54 seconds. Freshman Thomas Crawford was third in 11.75 with teammate Bola Kolawole fourth in 11.80.

In the 200 meters, Kolawole was second in 23.51 with teammate Wesley Brightmon in third (23.89) and Crawford fourth (24.05).

Skyline sophomore Savante Daniel was first in 52.83 in the 400 meters. Senior Garrett Peck was third (54.26) and junior TJ Dokas fourth (54.52).

Skyline went one-two in the 800 meters with junior Jesse Edelstein first (2:04.79) and freshman Brian Sabolich-Yi second (2:09.24). Sophomore Daniel Evans was fourth (2:11.84).

Senior Anthony Giannobile won the 1600 meters in 4:25.07 with Edelstein a close second in 4:25.75. Evans was fourth in 4:39.10.

Giannobile won the 3200 meters in 10:02.26 with teammate Liam Smith in second in 10:05.25. Sophomore Thomas Young was fourth in 10:31.36.

Skyline’s Logan Clark was second in the 110 hurdles in 16.98. Matthew Scott was sixth in 18.45 and Johnathan Faulkner seventh in 19.21.

In the 300 hurdles, Faulkner was second in 45.10, Scott fourth in 46.28 and Clark fifth in 46.65.

Skyline won the 4×100 relay in 43.74 and took second in the 4×200 relay in 1:32.08. The Eagles won the 4×400 relay (3:34.57) and the 4×800 relay (8:38.29).
Junior Davion Pipkins was third in the high jump (5-08).


The Eagles took the top three spots in the 100 meters with Taylor Weatherford first (13.04), Myla Robinson second (13.51) and Noriah Kidd third (13.56).

Skyline also swept the 200 meters with Weatherford first (27.73), Zsofia Hull second (27.76) and Felicity Sorenson third (27.85).

Hull won the 400 meters (1:00.89) with Sorenson second (1:02.61) and Catrin Koselka third (1:04.26).

Junior Lillian Peck won the 800 meters (2:25.11) with Camille Kukor second (2:32.39). Arielle Melong was fourth (2:46.32).

Kukor won the 1600 meters in 5:21.27. Senior Lydia Gilbert was third (5:51.32).
Chrysanthe Patselas won the 3200 meters (12:28.78) with freshman Laura O’Brien a close second (12:28.82) and Victoria Miller fourth (14:20.91).

Junior Madeline Nicholas won the 100 hurdles in 17.09 with Ayanna Bell fourth (17.89).

Nicholas also won the 300 hurdles (47.98). Ayanna Bell was third (50.50) and Lindsey Gilbert fourth (53.43).

Skyline won the 4×100 relay (52.48), the 4×200 relay (1:51.29) and the 4×800 relay (10:43.97).

The Eagles went one-two in the shot put with Marina Salazar first (33-01.5) and Janee Faulkner second (32-08). Gabriela Salazar was fifth (28-05).

Marina Salazar was second in the discus (108-05).

Freshman Felicity Sorenson was second in the high jump (4-10) and senior Josie Chey was third (4-08.01).

Junior Emily Yao was third in the pole vault (8) and Sam Barber was fourth (7-06).

Hull was second in the long jump (15-01) and Chey was fifth (14-05).
