Baker Rd Roundabout Informational Meeting May 22nd

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be holding a public informational meeting regarding the Baker Road roundabout intersections project on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 at Creekside Intermediate School Cafeteria.

As many of us are already aware, WCRC in cooperation with the City of Dexter, will be reconstructing Baker Road from Shield Road to Dan Hoey Road for the installation of two roundabouts.

And most of Dexter is acutely aware that preliminary utility relocation work has already started; a contractor for DTE Gas is currently installing new gas mains. Further work will be performed to relocate DTE Electric, AT&T, Comcast, and other fiber optic/communication facilities in the coming days.

Roundabout road construction is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2018. Baker Road and the intersection of Shield Road and Dan Hoey Road will be closed for the duration of the project.  WCRC has set the goal to complete the project prior to the start of the Dexter Community Schools 2018/19 school year.
