Dexter Forum Notes 05-19-18

From moderator John Hansen:

We hosted the Bridge Magazine Truth Tour.  Dwayne Barnes guided us through a series of policy choices and we responded using little ‘clickers’ that anonymously recorded our preferences on the overhead screen.  The Bridge folks aggregate the results with others from all over the state and create a citizen driven policy agenda for use by our legislature.

This was a departure from our usual format but those present seemed pleased with the concept.  It is difficult to summarize the event so it falls in the category of you had to be there to appreciate it.  We may get some shareable results at some point and when we do I’ll pass them along.

The next meeting of the Dexter Forum will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 8:30 AM at the Dexter Wellness Center at 2810 Baker Road.  We have just five more meetings before the August primary so we will have the stump available for candidates facing primary opposition.

The Dexter Forum is supported by the Dexter Wellness Coalition as part of the 5 Healthy Towns initiative to “help connect with others in healthy ways”.  The purpose of the Forum is to create an opportunity for interested women and men to gather to discuss important issues facing our community.  All are welcome on a drop-in basis.  The group meets on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

The Forum is co-moderated by Karl Fink and John Hansen.
