The Skyline golf team followed up its perfect 11-0 record in the SEC season by proving it was no fluke. The Eagles fired a team score of 320 on Tuesday to win the SEC tournament at Ann Arbor Polo Fields.
It was the second straight year the Eagles went undefeated against SEC foes and the program’s third straight SEC title and fifth in nine years.
Pioneer was just seven shots back of the Eagles with a team score of 327. Bedford was third (339), Chelsea fourth (339) and Pinckney fifth (346). Huron was 10th with a 355.
Cam Cowland finished first and Vimal Alokam third as All-Conference individuals this season. The top eight players in each division are named to the team.
Cowland led the way on Tuesday firing a 78 to finish third overall. Alokam shot a 79 and tied for fourth place. Shaunak Bhagat (81) tied for eighth place. The rest of the Skyline scorecard featured Joe Trudeau (82), Beau Chicoine (83) and Evan Griffith (86).
The Pioneers went one-two in the individual results on Tuesday. Xavier Lee shot an impressive 73 to finish first overall. Teammate Colin Flanders was second with a 75.
The rest of the Pioneer scorecard featured Kailas Whitelocke (88), Davis DeRosia (91), Wyatt Bullinger (103) and Lewie Fichera (112).
Huron’s William Chung shot an 81 to tie for eighth place and finish among the top 10 medalists. Huron’s Jack Harrison fired an 87, Julius Stuhec shot a 90, Devon Caris shot a 97 and Carl Innes and Austin Aldrich fired a 99.
