ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference announced Thursday (May 31) the kickoff time for four University of Michigan football games during the 2018 season. Additional games can be selected prior to the season or will be chosen during the six- and 12-day selection process with the networks.
A week after opening the season against Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, U-M will play its home opener against Western Michigan at noon on Sept. 8. The game will air on Fox Sports 1.
The following weekend, U-M will welcome SMU to Michigan Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 15 in Ann Arbor.
The broadcast network for the Wolverines’ homecoming contest against Maryland will be determined at a later date, but it was announced that the game will kick off at noon. Additionally, U-M’s game in East Lansing against Michigan State will be broadcast either on FOX or FS1, with kickoff time being announced at a later date.
“The Game” between Michigan and Ohio State will appear on FOX for the second year in a row. The network will carry this year’s battle between the two rivals on Nov. 24 at noon. The game will be played in Columbus at Ohio Stadium.
