Dr. Jeanice K. Swift, Superintendent of the Ann Arbor Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Shaenu A. Micou, has accepted the position of Dean at Pathways to Success Academic Campus. Mr. Micou is well known to the Pathways community as he has served for the past year as first their ninth grade dean, then as interim principal. Prior to moving into administration, he worked for eight years as a community assistant at the school.
Shaenu Micou brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience to this leadership position. He has devoted his professional career to serving the young people in our community. His experience includes working as a camp director for the City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Department before joining the Ann Arbor Public Schools in 2005 as a Community Assistant at the Pathways to Success Campus when it was called Ann Arbor Technological High School. Following eight years as a community assistant, he served as an intervention specialist at Skyline High School for four years before returning to Pathways to Success as the Ninth Grade Dean.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University. He has also studied Law at Wayne State University.
“Principal Micou’s demonstrated commitment and vast experience in service to the young people of Ann Arbor alongside his strong academic preparation provide a depth and breadth of professional knowledge that will serve our Pathways students well,” shares Superintendent Jeanice Swift. Mr. Micou shares that he is honored and excited to serve the students and community of Pathways to Success and he adds, “I believe in the gifts and greatness of our students and I am fully committed to paving the way for their newfound opportunities, growth and success.”
