Swimming: Dexter places sixth at competitive Huron Relays

Huron High School hosted the annual Huron Relays on Thursday night and the event featured several area swimming and diving powerhouses including Saline, Northville, Skyline, Pioneer and of course Dexter.

Saline finished first in the eight-team event with 412 points. Northville was second (398 points) with Brighton third (384 points). Pioneer was fourth (372), Skyline fifth (316), Dexter sixth (312) and Huron seventh (294).
Here is how the Dreadnaughts fared in each event:

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Jordan Maisch, Zoe Michos, Charlotte Schultz and Sam Durrant took fourth in 1:54.75.

In the 400 freestyle relay, the foursome of Elizabeth Merz, Allison Wyka, Lauren Witte and Hailee Waters was seventh in 3:55.62.

In the 400 IM relay, the team of Kamille Balcom, Jordan Maisch, Lauren Witte and Charlotte Schultz was sixth in 4:25.85.

In the 200 butterfly relay, the all-sophomore team of Theresa Rutz, Sam Durrant, Emma Sortor and Hailee Waters was third in 1:54.23.
In the 200 backstroke relay, the team of Jordan Maisch, Lauren Witte, Maddi Matos and Charlotte Schultz was fourth in 1:56.10.

In the 800 free relay, the team of Allison Wyka, Hailee Waters, Elizabeth Higgins and Elizabeth Merz was sixth in 8:44.41.

In the 200 breaststroke relay, the team of Kamille Balcom, Gretchen Heidebrink, Ella Krahn and Zoe Michos placed eighth in 2:18.60.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Sam Durrant, Allison Wyka, Gwen Tatara and Elizabeth Merz swam eighth in 1:48.19.

In the 2×50 diving relay, Dexter’s divers Elyssa Grossmann and Emily Rooney placed fourth.
