Michigan senior Jenna Lerg dug deep – 28 times to be exact – to help lead the Wolverines to a sweep of High Point in the team’s first game of the War Eagle Invitational at the Auburn (Ala.) Arena. It also was the Wolverine’s first game of the year.
A few hours later, the Wolverines swept Auburn 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Wolverines won the opening game 25-23 over High Point and never looked back. U-M took the second game 25-22 and finished off High Point with a 25-22 win in the third game.
Michigan freshman Paige Jones made an impressive debut. She had a match-high 14 kills in the victory. Redshirt junior Cori Crocker had a match-high seven blocks for the Wolverines. Junior Sydney Wetterstom added 11 kills at a .381 clip, while senior Carly Skjodt posted nine kills and three blocks.
Junior MacKenzi Welsh posted her first double-double of the season with 32 assists and 12 digs.
