Pioneer hosts the very competitive SEC Red Volleyball Jamboree


Pioneer hosted the annual Southeastern Conference Red Division Jamboree on Monday and one thing was clear throughout the afternoon that featured 15 games as all six teams got to play one another in the best of three format. The SEC is a very, very strong conference when it comes to volleyball – and this year appears to be no different.

Bedford ran the table winning all five matches on the day. The Kicking Mules won the battle of 4-0 teams in their last game, defeating Saline 25-16, 25-23.

Skyline went 3-2 on the day. Huron went 1-4 while Pioneer finished 0-5.

The Eagles opened up with a 25-16, 25-14 win over host Pioneer. They knocked off Monroe 25-16, 25-17, 27-25 and fell to Bedford 25-16, 25-15. Skyline lost a close match to Saline (25-21, 25-22) but defeated beating Huron (25-7, 25-12) in the final game of the day.

The young River Rats lost its opener to Saline 25-13, 25-14 before dropping a close three-set match with Monroe (25-17, 26-24, 25-18). Huron lost to Saline 25-13, 25-14 and to Bedford 25-7, 25-12. They defeated Pioneer 25-22, 21-25, 25-20 in a three-set match.

Pioneer fell to Monroe (25-19, 25-12), Bedford (25-12, 25-13) and Saline (25-17, 25-23).
