The local teams teed it up on Wednesday at the Saline Tournament at Travis Pointe Country Club as the girls got to play the same course as the LPGA players. While the course was challenging, the local teams were up to the challenge.
Skyline fired a team score of 362 to finish seventh overall out of 21 teams. Pioneer finished just six strokes behind the Eagles with an eighth-place team score of 368.
Northville finished first overall with a 333 followed by Brighton and Plymouth who both fired team scores of 340. Stoney Creek was fourth (347), South Lyon fifth (352) and Livonia Franklin sixth (361).
Pioneer’s Amaya Melendez finished tied for first on the individual scorecard with an impressive 77. Northville’s Mariella Simoncini also fired a 77.
The Eagles were led by Nikki Lama with an 87, which placed her 16th overall. Adie Maki shot an 88, Cammi Tirico fired a 93, Addyson Meadows shot a 94 and Alison Marshall shot a 99 for Skyline.
The Pioneers were led by Amaya Melendez with a 77. Katie Liu shot a 94, Sooah Jung shot a 97 and Claire Middleton fired a 100.
On Thursday, the Eagles fired a program-best team score of 167 in an SEC nine-hole match at Lake Forest. Skyline defeated both Monroe and Chelsea in the tri-meet.
Lama fired a team-best 38 to lead the Eagles. Maki (40), Tirico (44), Meadows (45), Marshall (53) and Eveylnne Crumm (55) completed the Skyline scorecard.
