Local nonprofit treatment center Dawn Farm is celebrating its 45th year in operation at the 45th Anniversary Dawn Farm Jamboree. Admission is free and all proceeds will benefit the Dawn Farm Scholarship Fund.
The event takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the on Dawn Farm’s 64 acre farm located at 6633 Stony Creek Road in Ypsilanti.
The Jamboree is a free, county fair-style event to celebrate the large recovering community of Washtenaw County. Activities include kids’ games, hayrides, horse rides, a yard sale, food trucks and a live and silent auction full of items donated by the community. Guests will enjoy live music by Abigail Stauffer and local band, Impulse.
The mission of Dawn Farm is to assist addicts and alcoholics in achieving long-term recovery. Dawn Farm staff identifies and removes the barriers that addicts face in entering the recovering community.
“Our premier sponsors include St. Joseph Mercy Health Center, Zingerman’s Community of Businesses, and the South University Area Association,” Dawn Farm Development Director Olivia Vigiletti said.
Notable auction items include a vacation at Crystal Mountain resort, Pistons and Redwings autographed memorabilia, and a week’s stay at a cabin in Northern Michigan, as well as dozens of gift cards to local businesses in the community and nearly 70 items from the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
