Swimming: Pioneer knocks off Chelsea in SEC dual-meet


The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team traveled to Chelsea and defeated the host Bulldogs 118-68 in an SEC crossover dual-meet.

Pioneer’s winning relays included the 200 medley (Grace Stephan, Edwina Jalet, Abby Mehraban, Katie Capelli), 200 Free (Lily Cramer, Lindsay Orringer-Hau, Katie Capelli, Amelia Weyhing), and the 400 Free (Amelia Weyhing, Katie Capelli, Vivian VanRenterghem, Lindsay Orringer-Hau).

Pioneer individual event winners included Quoia Sam (200 free), Katie Capelli (200 IM), Abby Mehraban (50 free), Alex Mercier (Diving), Lindsay Orringer-Hau (100 fly), Vivian VanRenterghem (100 free & 100 back), and Jenni Krzeczkowski (500 free).

State cuts were achieved by the 400 free relay (Amelia Weyhing, Katie Capelli, Vivian VanRenterghem, Lindsay Orringer-Hau) and Lindsay Orringer-Hau in the 100 fly.

MISCA qualification times were reached by Quoia Sam (200 free), Katie Capelli (200 IM), Amelia Weyhing (200 IM), Abby Mehraban (50 free), Edwina Jalet (50 free), Lindsay Orringer-Hau (100 fly), Lily Cramer (100 fly & 100 free), Vivian VanRenterghem (100 back) and Autumn Bullinger (100 back).
