This lovely home – recently built for sale by another builder – had a tragedy: a serious fire only a year after being purchased. (Fortunately, no one was injured.) The middle section of the home had to be replaced, as well as all interior finishes. This time the homeowners got to select their finishes, tweak the plans a bit, and additionally they chose to have the basement finished while we were at it. Acheson builders was selected for this rebuilding because of our sterling reputation as a remodeler, and because of our ability to surgically remove and replace only what needed to be. Come see a fine custom home with some great views, a lovely finished basement, and ideas for your next project!

The home, originally built in 1957, was in dire need of a facelift. in addition, our client wanted to utilize aging-in-place strategies to get dad situated comfortably on the first floor.  With the help of meadowlark lead designer Jen hinesman, a design solution was achieved that not only created comfortable, functional spaces for the new family dynamic, but also reflected the client’s strong design aesthetic. Clients of Forward from over 15 years ago, this family returned for a muchneeded kitchen remodel and other interior updates.

The kitchen was outdated, dark, and cramped; the clients desired a more open feeling, a larger island, and a more sophisticated design throughout to better express their style.

The new space meets their wants and their needs; the new, larger island provides additional workspace and keeps appliances off the countertops, and a more functional cabinet arrangement has replaced the existing pantry and outdated desk space. The kitchen now feels more open and spacious, thanks to lighter-toned cabinetry and a new focal point: a well-placed window above the cooktop. more traditional design elements have been given a twist with the selection of travertine tiles, granite countertops, an updated powder room, laundry room and fireplace to match!

Though already well-appointed, the home owners imagined a reinvention of their lower living level with a fresh infusion of character. With vibrant finishes, creative furnishings, and more functional space planning, their inspiration took shape in the form of a welcoming foyer, media room, guest bath, laundry and mudroom.

From the entry and throughout the hallway and living space, engineered wood flooring and eclectic lighting lend cohesive charm and ambiance to warm the living space. using classic brick style subway tile for the backdrop of the freestanding claw foot tub, this charming bathroom provides relaxing comfort for guests. The flooring, with grey and white pattern tile, is an encaustic tile; which uses colored clays instead of glazes to create the pattern. down the hall, the laundry room floor has a complimentary tile pattern producing a beautifully balanced space.  Come experience their joyful creation!
