Detour Ahead: The latest in construction updates around town


Huron Pkwy between Plymouth and Nixon: 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018. Northbound traffic will be detoured west on Plymouth Road to north on Nixon Road back to Huron Parkway. The southbound traffic on Huron Parkway will be maintained. Local businesses will have access to their driveways maintained at all times. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on Huron Parkway​​​.

South Seventh Street at Washington: Thursday, Sept. 27-Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018. The intersection of South Seventh Street and Huron Street will be closed to southbound traffic. Southbound traffic on South Seventh Street will be detoured at Huron Street eastbound to southbound South First Street to westbound West Liberty Street. Northbound South Seventh Street traffic will travel in the northbound lane between West Liberty Street and West Huron Street, alternating to the southbound lane near Murray Court when the water disconnection occurs.​

Washington Street between Crest Avenue and South Seventh Street, Crest Avenue between Huron Street and Buena Vista, Buena Vista between Crest and West Washington, and Ninth between West Washington and Huron Street will continue to be closed to through traffic, with the exception of school traffic, until the project is complete.​

Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 – Michigan home football game

Temporary closures of South Main Street between Pauline Blvd & West Stadium Blvd: Northbound lanes will close beginning at  9 a.m. All lanes of South Main Street will close at 11 a.m.

8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28 through 1 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, the following streets will be closed for the Oktoberfest special event:

  • ​Half the block of E. Washington St. from S. Main St. to the public alley toward S. Fourth Ave
  • W. Washington from Main Street​ to Ashley Street ​
