Football: Father Gabriel Richard wins first game without gaining a single yard

The Father Gabriel Richard football team entered the win column this week without scoring a point or even taking a snap. It’s not exactly how the Irish wanted to win their first game but you can’t control things out of your control.

Detroit Universal Academy only has a few games on the schedule and they have had to forfeit the first three games – including Friday’s contest with FGR.

So, the Irish posted a 2-0 win and can focus their attention now on Dearborn Divine Child. FGR is coming off a 42-0 loss to a very good U-D Jesuit team last weekend.

The Irish (1-5) host the Falcons on Friday, Oct. 5. DC is struggling after reaching the Regional finals last year. They entered Friday’s game with Orchard Lake St. Mary’s with a 1-4 record.
