Swimming: Dreadnaughts dunk rival Chelsea in SEC dual-meet

The Dexter girls’ swimming team scored a big dual-meet win last week when the Dreadnaughts dunked rival Chelsea 116-70 Thursday in an SEC White Division dual meet at Chelsea.

The Dreads got rolling right out of the blocks by going one-two in the medley relay. The team of Jordan Maisch, Zoe Michos, Charlotte Schultz and Sam Durrant touched first in 1:53.20. The foursome of Lauren Witte, Kamille Balcom, Emma Sorter and Ella Krahn swam second in 1:58.59.

Allison Wyka was second in 200 freestyle in 2:02.91 with teammate Elizabeth Merz third in 2:03.12.

Michos was second (2:21.99) and Balcom third (2:24.00) in the 200 IM.

The Dreads went one-two in the 50 free with Schultz first in 25.28 and Maisch second in 25.44.

Elysa Grossman took first in diving for Dexter with 227.50 points.

In the butterfly, Durrant was second (1:03.89) and Sorter third (1:06.13) for the Dreadnaughts.

Schultz won the 100 free in 54.79.

Dexter took the top three spots in the 500 free with Wyka first (5:30.08), Hailee Waters second (5:40.81) and Elizabeth Higgins third (5:45.67).

The Dreads touched second in the 200 free relay as the team of Durrant, Michos, Waters and Schultz finished with a time of 1:43.86.

Dexter again went one-two-three, this time in the backstroke. Maisch was first in 1:01.21, Lauren Witte was second in 1:05.64 and Maddi Matos third (1:05.87).

Michos was second in the breaststroke (1:13.20).

The foursome of Merz, Krahn, Maisch and Waters won the 400 free relay in 3:51.98.

On Tuesday, Dexter dunked Pinckney 146-39.
