Swimming: Eagles dunk Pinckney 145-39 in SEC dual-meet


The Skyline girls’ swimming and diving team prevailed 145-39 over Pinckney Community on Oct. 4.

Sixteen Skyline swimmers had lifetime and/or season best times Thursday.

Junior Madison Deininger swam a lifetime best in the 200 free while posting a season-best time in the 100 free. Sophomore Emma Pettigrew swam lifetime bests in the 200 free and 100 fly. Freshman Gina Sadler set two MISCA-qualifying lifetime bests in the 100 free and 200 free. Freshman Alia Tracy swam for lifetime bests in the 50 breast, 100 breast and 50 free relay.

The Eagles host Huron at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

Ten Skyline swimmers qualified to compete in the Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (MISCA) meet Saturday, Oct. 13 at noon. Senior Ella Sadler; juniors Casey Chung, Madison Deininger, Allison Haak, and Alison Lock; sophomores Sophia Kunisaki and Emma Pettigrew; freshmen Hannah Jyawook, Claire Kozma, and Gina Sadler will compete in MISCA at Eastern Michigan University. Skyline senior divers Zain Smith and Paige Sundermann will square off Friday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.
